Nigeria is considering a new model for establishing a national carrier, using private investment instead of government funding.
During an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, said there were plans to revitalise a national carrier with a new name, but not under a government model.
“The hopes and ambitions for Nigeria Air are gone under that specific model. If we see other models that work around the world that benefit Nigerians, we will be open to talk and a few are talking with us already.”
