Norwegian Aqua to offer short Bahamas cruises

Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Aqua will operate three- and four-night cruises to the Bahamas for the first time from April 2028.

The 3 571-passenger ship will sail from PortMiami throughout the 2028 summer season, following a winter deployment from Port Canaveral.

Three-night weekend cruises will depart Miami on Fridays, while four-night itineraries will depart on Mondays. All sailings will visit Nassau and Norwegian’s private island destination, Great Stirrup Cay. The four-night itineraries will also include a full day cruising in the Florida Straits.

Norwegian Aqua is scheduled to operate more than 50 of the short Bahamas cruises between late April and late October 2028.

Island upgrades

The deployment comes as Norwegian continues a major enhancement of Great Stirrup Cay. Upgrades include the new Great Tides Waterpark and a pier that will allow passengers to disembark directly from their ship.

Other additions include Horizon Park, featuring lawn-style games and pickleball courts, and Hammock Bay.
