Turkish Airlines has suspended its flights between Istanbul and Tel Aviv and says it will return to the route only on October 26 this year.
At present, it’s seen as a temporary situation, and the reason for the suspension has not been given.
Routes to Tel Aviv
Of interest for the South African market is a list published by The Jerusalem Post, showing airlines currently flying to Israel, or returning within the next three months. Only airlines currently flying to South Africa are shown here.
Flights to Israel may currently be booked through Air France, Ethiopian Airlines, Etihad, Lufthansa and SWISS.
Several airlines are expected to return to Tel Aviv during February, March and April.
From February 1 this year, Tel Aviv expects the return of Air Seychelles and Emirates.
In March, Iberia, EasyJet, Eurowings, and KLM are due to return to Tel Aviv. Turkish carrier, Pegasus Airlines will also recommence from various airports in Turkey.
British Airways and Virgin are expected to return on April 1.
Some airlines have not published their plans for a return to Israel.
