Sandton Sun reopens following refurb
THE Sandton Sun has reopened for business after undergoing
an extensive refurbishment. The renovation saw 326 rooms
refurbished and three new meeting rooms added – each fully
equipped with ceiling-mounted projectors and screens, controlled
lights and temperature settings. The hotel is located in the heart
of Sandton, Johannesburg, and provides direct access to the
Sandton Convention Centre and Sandton City shopping center.

Legacy opens new conference centre
LEGACY Hotels opened a new conference centre on October 12
in the Legacy Corner Building on Fifth and Maude Streets in
Sandton. The Sophia, which is part of the DaVinci Hotel and
Suites portfolio, can seat up to 121 people in cinema style, 30 in
U-shape, 60 in schoolroom and 36 in boardroom configuration.
It can also accommodate 90 to 100 people in the banqueting
hall and 120 for a standing cocktail reception. The Renaissancestyle
Sophia also offers audio-visual equipment, an art projector,
screening facilities and high-speed WiFi Internet.
