New Loisaba camp opens after fire
A NEW Loisaba Bush Camp in Nanyuki, Kenya, has opened after
Loisaba Lodge and Loisaba Private House were destroyed by a bush
fire in November last year. The new camp features 11 traditional
safari tents, two family tents and a honeymoon tent. All tents come
with en-suite bathrooms featuring bucket showers and flush toilets.
Activities include tracking lions, guided bush walks, horseback
safaris, river rafting, fishing, and quad biking. Guests can also dance
with the local Lakipiak Maasai. Private bush dinners and a night
under the sky on Loisaba's Star Beds can also be arranged.
Protea Lusaka to open in April
PROTEA Hotels will open its fourth property in Zambia, Protea Hotel
Lusaka Tower, in the country’s capital in April. The nine-storey, 137-
room hotel is situated in the Arcades Shopping and Entertainment
lifestyle hub, opposite the Mulungushi Conference Centre. The
property comprises four suites, 30 twin deluxe rooms, 103 king
deluxe rooms, a swimming pool and a ninth-floor restaurant and
bar. There will be two meeting rooms and three boardrooms that will
complement the conferencing facilities at the neighbouring Protea
Hotel Lusaka, which can accommodate 80 delegates.
New hotel opens in Gabon
LEGACY Hotels has opened Hotel Le Cristal in the heart of
Libreville, its first hotel in Gabon. The hotel forms part of Legacy
Hotels’ expansion plans into Africa and is geared for business and
leisure guests. Hotel Le Cristal is luxurious and upmarket and staff
speak both French and English. The 46 newly refurbished rooms
include standard, deluxe, junior and presidential suites. Facilities
include 24-hour room service, medical services and a business
centre. There are private meeting rooms, a gymnasium and a pool.
