Plan for EU delays this summer!

According to transfer operator platform Servantrip, travel agents and tour operators should expect their clients to face delays during this year’s very busy summer European season.

Last year, London Heathrow, Paris CDG, Amsterdam Schiphol and Madrid Barajas accommodated about 268 million passengers. This year is expected to be yet another record breaker, reports traveldailynews.com – particularly with the upcoming Paris Olympics.

Núñez made the following recommendations to travel agents, tour operators and travellers to ensure their private transfers in Europe provide a stress-free experience:

  • Flight delays can cause further challenges with ground transfers. Therefore, tracking is essential to ensure timely adjustments in chauffeur schedules;

  • Clear communication with clients in terms of designated meeting points, meet and greet services, and the sharing of contact details and emergency details assists travellers with navigating transfers to and from the airport, hotel and destination attractions;

  • Consider putting in buffer times with international clients who have to go through borders. Due to particularly high traffic volumes expected during this summer, long queues at borders may cause longer waiting times, and transfers should be adjusted accordingly;

  • Agents should provide details on the total number of passengers and luggage items, as well as whether there are children or not, so transfer providers can bring vehicles that will fit all passengers, child seats if necessary, luggage and any additional equipment.
