Qantas adds seasonal NZ service

Qantas will launch a new direct, seasonal service between Melbourne and Queenstown, New Zealand, between June 21 and August 27, subject to government approval.

The route will be operated by a Boeing 737, and will add over 10 000 seats to the route over the peak ski season.

The flights will operate on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The new direct service has been made possible due to a reduction in the Melbourne-Christchurch schedule for the four services per week over the winter, when demand on that route is lower.
