Sabi Sabi Collection has added Sandringham Private Game Reserve to its portfolio. The reserve is expected to welcome the first guests in August.
The reserve is located along the Timbavati River and shares a border with the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve and Thornybush Game Reserve.
Accommodation at the reserve includes two safari camps: N’weti and Shisaka with six suites each. Shisaka Camp will also have two villas.
Guests will be able to book Sandringham House for exclusive use as a fully serviced four-bedroom villa.
Rob Wyndham, Managing Director of Sabi Sabi Collection, says significant investment has gone into transforming the reserve – traditionally used for hunting – back into an eco-tourism venture and restoring the wilderness since the project began five years ago. “To have watched the wildlife rehabilitate, to understand that their environment is no longer a threat, that’s what we’re all about and that’s what we’ve created over the past 40 odd years.”
Sandringham Private Game Reserve has partnered with the Tracker Training Academy in a training initiative helping youth from surrounding communities become trackers. “We’ve also opened up to Bushwise, which is our collective training partner with the Ranger Training Academy, as well as Wild Earth,” Wyndham says.
