Swedish rail operator journeys to the Arctic
Swedish rail operator, Snälltåget, will operate an overnight train north of the Arctic Circle in late November to view the aurora borealis.
It will depart from Malmö on Monday, November 23, and run via Stockholm to Narvik, with stops including Kiruna, Abisko and Björkliden. The return trip departs from Narvik on Friday November 27.
The train features private or shared compartments that accommodate up to six people. A dining car serves hot meals and a self-service counter offers light refreshments.
The operator has published a preliminary route schedule on its website.
New night train service to Brussels Airport
A new night train service to Brussels Airport will be introduced by SNCB/NMB from December 2027.
The trains will operate from Bruges, Ghent and Brussels and will run seven days a week. They are scheduled to arrive at Brussels Airport as early as 03h30.
According to Brussels Times, the services will fill the current gap in early-morning transport options. Currently, the earliest trains to from Brussels arrive at around 04h30 on weekdays, while those departing from Bruges or Ghent arrive at 05h30.
