Qatar changes SA agent commission

Update: This article has been updated to reflect that Qatar posted this update on Travelinfo in August.

Qatar Airways will pay agents a commission of 1.01% for tickets issued in South Africa only when the first leg departs from South Africa. This is according to an update the airline posted on Travelinfo in August.

For tickets issued in South Africa, where the first leg of the flight departs from outside SA, Qatar Airways does not pay any standard commission; the commission for such tickets will be zero.

Therefore, all tickets issued on Public Fares and Private Fares which originate from South Africa and where structural commission is defaulting to 0% will require agents to manually adjust commission during ticket issuance. This will not affect the guaranteed fare.
