Qatar Airways is adding a fourth daily Doha-Dubai flight from November, following what QR terms "significant demand".
Qatar is currently competing with flydubai’s multiple daily flights on the route. During October, 390 return flights operated between the two cities, offering more than 92 000 seats, reports simpleflying.com.
Flydubai overtook Qatar this month, operating 198 flights compared with Qatar’s 192, however, because of Qatar’s widebody capacity on the route, its overall seat capacity stands at almost 59 000 against flydubai’s 34 044. Starting next month, Qatar predicts it will overtake flydubai, even on the flight count, by deploying an additional service on the route, reports cirium.com.
While flydubai uses a B737 fleet on the Doha-Dubai route, passengers flying with Qatar can expect to fly in one of Qatar’s eight widebody aircraft such as its A330s, A350s, B777s and B787s.
