AS PART of a joint venture between

Rani Resorts and the Minor Hotel

Group, ve of Rani’s Mozambican

resorts will be rebranded, with the rst

being Indigo Bay Island Resort and Spa.

Minor’s luxury brand, Anantara, will

be operating the hotel, now known

as Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort

& Spa. Anantara Hotels, Resorts and

Spas are found in Thailand, Maldives,

Vietnam, Bali, Phuket and Abu Dhabi.

“This is an exciting new era for all

involved but, particularly, for the hotel

and Mozambique as an emerging

tourist destination. The rebranding

will take the hotel to the next level by

introducing new offerings to further

enhance our guests’ experience;

such as food pairing, cooking classes

and other exciting new product

developments,” said head of marketing

and pr for South Africa, Michèle

Abraham, at the launch event of the

rebranded property.

Reservations for Anantara Bazaruto

Island Resort & Spa are still managed

via the teams in Johannesburg and

in Maputo. Sales and marketing will

also remain the same, fullled in

Johannesburg. New contact details can

be found on Travelinfo.

Rates and contracted commission

structure remain the same for 2014.

All bookings in the system as well

as standard booking and payment/

cancellation policies also remain

unchanged.

Hotel room types stay the same but

the names have changed. For example,

a Beach Chalet is now known as a

Beach Villa and a Honeymoon Chalet

as a Beach Pool Villa.

The next resort to be rebranded is

Pemba Beach Resort Hotel, under the

AVANI umbrella – the four-star brand.

Medjumbe Island will follow, branded

Anantara Indulgence, which is a step

above the regular Anantara ve-star

brand; then Matemo Island, also under

the Anantara Indulgence label. Lugenda

Wilderness Camp will remain in the

Rani Resorts portfolio. All properties

will receive upgrades and soft refurbs

as part of the rebrand.
