Royal Caribbean announces new island destination and fifth ship

Royal Caribbean has announced the development of the Perfect Day at Lelepa in Vanuatu in the South Pacific.

Perfect Day at Lelepa is Royal Caribbean’s first carbon-neutral destination, built with sustainable design to safeguard the island’s ecosystems.  It is set to open in 2020.

The destination is being developed in partnership with the community of Vanuatu and will showcase the natural ecological beauty and diverse local culture of the island nation. The partnership will contribute positively to the South Pacific island’s employment and education.

Royal Caribbean also unveiled a new ship, Wonder of the Seas, which will be the first of the cruise line’s Oasis-class ships to sail the Asia-Pacific.

Wonder of the Seas will set sail from the ship’s homeport in Shanghai, China, debuting in 2021.
