SAA defers JNB-PLZ route

14 Dec 2022

SAA’s anticipated flights linking Johannesburg with Gqeberha, which were due to commence on Monday (December 12), have been deferred to next year.

This is due to the lengthy regulatory approval process, which has taken much longer than anticipated, SAA said in a statement.

“Whilst the airline is disappointed that we could not achieve flying the Ggeberha route in time to meet the December peak season demand, the restart of this route remains a critical part of SAA’s network growth plan and SAA will continue to work to achieve this,” says SAA Chief Commercial Officer, Tebogo Tsimane.

The airline has relaunched its Johannesburg-Windhoek route, which began on December 8 and plans to go ahead with its Johannesburg-Victoria Falls service today (December 14).

SAA has also increased frequencies and seat capacity on its Mauritius, Harare, and Cape Town routes.
