Seabourn is increasing expedition cruises to Antarctica for the 2025-2026 season, due to demand.

In addition to existing voyages on Seabourn Venture and Seabourn Pursuit between November 2024 and February 2025, the cruise line will add a new 11-day sailing in March on Seabourn Venture.

The cruise line said exploring Antarctica in March offered a unique opportunity to witness the icy landscapes’ transition into winter. This is an ideal time for observing whale activity, with potential sightings of Humpback whales and orcas, along with Gentoo penguins and Antarctic fur seals.

Last season, the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators said Antarctica had received more than 100 000 tourists for the first time and expected more for the coming 2024 season, as reported by Travel News.

All voyages include a pre-cruise charter hotel stay in Buenos Aires, and passengers will be offered optional kayaking and submarine excursions as well as hikes in the untouched Antarctic landscape.

Each Antarctic expedition cruise will feature the new ‘Image Masters’ programme, a photography workshop that teaches guests the art of nature photography.

Seabourn is represented in the South African market by Cruises International and Whitestar Cruise and Travel.
