Shamwari Private Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape will reopen its Explorer Camp in September following refurbishment.
The camp now features three new tents with a screened bathroom, separate lounge, expanded deck and private plunge pool. New dining and lounge tents have also been added. Viewing decks have been repositioned to bring guests closer to the surrounding wilderness.
Operating from September to May, the Explorer Camp offers guided walking safaris where guests learn to track animals, interpret signs in the bush and explore the landscape on foot with Shamwari’s guiding team.
The camp, fenced for safety, is situated on a plateau among the reserve’s basalt and granite outcrops.
