Between July 1 and August 31, Singapore Airlines will operate three additional flights between Johannesburg and Singapore, bringing the total number between South Africa and Singapore to 10 a week during the period.
Supplementary flight SQ 481 will depart Johannesburg at 19h55 on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, arriving in Singapore at 12h20 the following day. Inbound flight SQ 482 will depart Singapore at 14h00, also on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, and will arrive in Johannesburg at 18h35.
The airline will also increase service on the Singapore to Cape Town (via Johannesburg) route, from the current four flights a week to a daily flight, effective March 26.
"Singapore Airlines is fully committed to the South African market and the deployment of supplementary flights reflects this. We have listened to the requests from our customers and travel trade partners to introduce more capacity," said Kian Hwa Chua, gm, Central and Southern Africa.
The flights will be operated by an A350-900 aircraft, configured in business class, premium economy, and economy class.
