Singapore’s Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) has extended the trial of its e-arrival card, which allows foreign visitors to submit an electronic arrival card instead of completing the paper-based disembarkation/embarkation card at the airport.
Singapore has launched the beta version of the ‘SG Arrival Card’ e-service, available on the ICA’s website and on a mobile app available on the Apple store and Google Play. The mobile app will save previously submitted information for use on subsequent trips to Singapore.
Foreign travellers only need to present their passport at checkpoints as long as they have submitted an e-arrival card up to 14 days ahead of their arrival date.
For the trial, only foreign visitors travelling to Singapore via selected air, bus and ferry operators can submit e-arrival cards. These include Cathay Pacific, AirAsia and Singapore Airlines.
All other visitors will still be required to complete the paper-based disembarkation/embarkation cards.
By 2021, the e-arrival card is intended to completely replace the paper-based disembarkation/embarkation card.
