South Korea launches digital nomad visa

12 Jan 2024
Comments | 0

South Korea has introduced a digital nomad visa that allows remote workers to live in the country for up to two years.

The visa comes as a part of the government’s plan to attract 20 million foreign visitors and increase tourism-generated revenue to US$24,5 billion (R457,5 billion), reports nomadsembassy.com.

The digital nomad visa is initially valid for one year, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year.

The government has also expanded its Korean Electronic Travel Authorisation to more nations, including South Africa, to ease the process of visa applications and visits for foreign tourists.
