Stark’s leadership recognised

Andrew Stark, Global MD Flight Centre, has distinguished himself by receiving the prestigious Flight Centre Director's Award for the second time in his career with the group.  The award was handed to him during the Global Flight Centre event in Lisbon last month.

Stark, well-known for his can-do attitude in SA circles, carved out a career for himself with Flight Centre in South Africa and, in 2021, when he was Flight Centre MD for South Africa, he was called on to relocate to Brisbane to take up the Global MD position, which he did in early 2022.

Stark said both awards were milestones representing pivotal moments in his professional journey.

“This latest recognition holds a special place in my heart for several reasons. These include building a world-class global leadership team, rebuilding a brand in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, collaborating with the company's founder and senior leaders, contributing to global sustainability and, most importantly, the support from my amazing family after relocating from South Africa to Australia some two and a half years ago. Leadership is often a lonely sport, and it feels invigorating to feel valued together with my team.”
