Start booking KLM’s Premium Comfort

19 Sep 2022

KLM’s Premium Comfort class is now available for bookings – but only available on certain routes where the aircraft are equipped with the new cabin.

The first aircraft equipped with the new cabin took off on August 27 from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to New York-JFK.

By the end of September, the cabin will be available on Boeing 787-10 flights between Amsterdam and New York-JFK, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Nairobi, and Kilimanjaro/Dar es Salaam.

By the end of this year, Premium Comfort will be available on all Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

South Africa should also be among one of the early routes to enjoy the new cabin. Travel News has heard from a good source that at least some of the Cape Town services could include the Premium Economy cabin from December. KLM will begin operating three additional weekly flights between Amsterdam and Cape Town from November this year.

It is not yet clear how long the Johannesburg route will have to wait to get this cabin.

KLM says it is equipping its Boeing 777 and 787 aircraft with the cabins, and the work is set to be complete in January 2024.

Travellers who book Premium Comfort will enjoy the benefits of Sky Priority, allowing them to be among the first to board. The seats offer 17cm more leg-room, a moveable foot and leg rest, and a recline of up to 20cm.

Travellers will also receive a comfort kit, which includes essentials such as a toothbrush, eye mask, and ear plugs.
