SWISS is to install lead plates on certain aircraft, as the airline’s new heavy first-class seats are upsetting the trim of the aircraft.
They will be installed from winter 2025, according to Swissinfo.ch.
SWISS spokesperson, Meike Fuhlrott, said the trend to give passengers in business- and first-class more privacy, was making the seats heavier. With economy seats becoming lighter, it was leading to a shift in the aircraft’s centre of gravity.
