System upgrade leads to DHA difficulties

The Department of Home Affairs has technical teams assisting front offices that are experiencing difficulties since its system upgrade, which began on Friday, March 29.

The department announced the beginning of upgrades to its Live Capture system from 15h00 on Friday. Systems were meant to resume fully on Monday, April 1.

But some offices are still unable to process Smart ID card and Passport applications due to technical errors.

“All other services are available at front offices across the country, like processing and issuing of certificates for births, marriages and deaths,” the Department has said.

The DHA has expressed its apologies to all its clients for the inconvenience caused.
