TAAG/Iberia codeshare expands European network

Through a codeshare agreement with Spanish airline, Iberia, TAAG Linhas Aéreas de Angola has just expanded its network of destinations in Europe and domestic connections in Spain, connecting Luanda to multiple international destinations via Madrid.

TAAG customers and passengers are now able to travel on a codeshare basis to London, Amsterdam, Rome, Milan, Geneva, Zurich, Brussels and Porto. Domestic destinations in Spain are also included, namely Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Gran Canaria, Vigo, Malaga, Bilbao, Valencia and Seville.

The codeshare system offers customers a number of advantages. Passengers now have more fare options to choose from, wider access to Iberia’s destinations available in the system, acquisition of a single ticket (for itinerary on both companies) purchased in local currency and with a guarantee of protection on connecting flights.

Dealing with issues such as flight booking, check-in and baggage dispatch for trips with a stopover is also more agile and convenient for the passenger within the codeshare partnership regime.

Under the agreement between the two airlines, the Africa-Europe route (Luanda- Madrid-Luanda) is operated by TAAG, with the Europe-Europe connections carried out by Iberia.
