Tanzania drops PCRs for vaxxed pax

Fully-vaccinated travellers no longer need a PCR test and only require a vaccination certificate with QR code to travel to Tanzania, including Zanzibar.

Unvaccinated travellers five years and older require a negative PCR test result taken 72 hours prior to departure.

Travellers must complete the online Traveller’s Surveillance Form 24 hours prior to travel. A Unique Health Code will be issued, which must be presented on arrival.

Unvaccinated travellers, whose travel originates in a country on this list, must take a Rapid Antigen Test on arrival, for which they must pay before departure. The cost is US$10 for mainland Tanzania and US$25 for Zanzibar. Travellers who test positive for COVID will be subject to 14 days quarantine, or until they test negative using a PCR test. They will be subject to strict surveillance. There are currently no self-quarantine requirements for arriving travellers without COVID-19 symptoms.

Travellers who are flying on airlines that require a Rapid Antigen Test four hours prior to flying can get the test at Dar Es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, or Zanzibar airport for US$10.
