Two Paris night routes discontinued
Austrian rail company ÖBB will discontinue its Vienna-Paris and Berlin-Paris Nightjet services from December 14, following the withdrawal of French funding.
The French Transport Ministry told France’s national rail operator SNCF Voyageurs that state funding would end on the routes in January 2026 as both routes had consistently lost money, according to TravelMole.
Although ÖBB supplied the trains for the service, SNCF handled the operations within France, meaning ÖBB could no longer maintain the French segment of the route. ÖBB will continue to run other routes such as the Vienna-Brussels, Vienna-Amsterdam and Munich-Rome Nightjet services.
Caledonian Sleeper to link Scotland and Birmingham
