European Sleeper will launch a new overnight route between Belgium, the Netherlands and Sweden in northern spring 2028.
The new route, developed in partnership with German railway operator RDC, will connect Brussels, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Malmö.
Departures from Brussels and Malmö are planned for the evenings, arriving at the other end of the route the following morning.
The service is expected to offer European Sleeper’s usual night train accommodation, including seats, couchettes and sleeper compartments. Deluxe sleeper options are being considered, with double beds and private en-suite bathrooms.
Auckland to open City Rail Link
Auckland’s City Rail Link (CRL) will open to passengers on September 13, creating a new underground connection through the city centre.
The CRL includes 3,45km of twin rail tunnels and two new underground stations at Te Waihorotiu and Karanga-a-Hape. Waitematā and Maungawhau stations have also been redeveloped as part of the project.
The new link is expected to transform Auckland’s rail network, with faster journeys, more frequent services and improved connections across the city. The project also provides for longer nine-car electric trains and more pedestrian-friendly spaces around the city centre.
