TRAVELINFO, the go-to reference
directory for travel agents, has
upgraded its offering by making
rich content available on its
website.
On September 12 the platform
launched its first promotional
supplier video, which travel
agents could view by clicking on
Travelinfo’s homepage banner.
“This development takes the
way our clients can communicate
with agents to another level,” says
Linda van der Pol, divisional head
of Travelinfo.
She says the decision to offer
multimedia content came as a
consequence of several factors,
including the decision to keep up
to date with current trends and
enhance the platform’s system.
“In the survey we held a couple
months ago (see TNW, June
29) agents were keen to have
illustrations and videos available
on the website, so they’re ready
for it.”
Key in launching this service was
ensuring the platform remained
accessible to travel agents, says
Linda. “This video isn’t like a
YouTube video, which is often
blocked by a company’s priority
settings. Agents will still have the
option to view the video or not
– it’s paramount that Travelinfo
is still a tool agents can use to
retrieve information quickly and
easily.”
As part of a promotional
package, Travelinfo is offering
suppliers the opportunity
to upload video content
that agents would be
able to access via TI’s
homepage and the client’s
database on the platform.
Uniworld is the first of its
clients who has elected
to upload rich content on
TI’s website. “They’ve also
chosen to share this video
exclusively with Travelinfo,”
says Linda.
In future, the company
is also looking at giving
suppliers the opportunity to
upload videos focusing on
travel agents’ operations.
“This is phase one
of the new Travelinfo;
there are still lots of
new developments in the
pipeline,” Linda says.
