Tsogo Sun adds luxe De Stellenbosch

Tsogo Sun Hotels, in partnership with investment holdings company the Remgro Group, has announced the inclusion of Stellenbosch’s luxury boutique hotel, De Stellenbosch, to its management portfolio.

Located in the historic town of the same name, De Stellenbosch – which consists of a collection of historic farmstead buildings dating back to the early 1900s and offers 22 bedrooms – is completing final preparations for welcoming its first guests on May 1.

“The hotel is perfectly located for Cape Town getaways and wine-country breaks, just 30-minutes from Cape Town International Airport and within easy reach of the area’s more than 145 vineyards. The addition of this hotel enhances our luxury offering in the Cape region, complementing properties such as the Arabella, Golf Resort and Spa in the Overberg and well-known hotels such as the Southern Sun Cullinan in Cape Town,” said Marcel von Aulock, ceo of Tsogo Sun Hotels.

“The development of De Stellenbosch is part our continued commitment to preserving the heritage buildings of Stellenbosch and the promotion of tourism to the town and the greater winelands region that is so important to the economic growth and development of the country as a whole,” added Remgro ceo, Jannie Durand. “While the impact of COVID-19 has clearly been unimaginably hard on the hospitality industry, we remain confident in the long-term potential of this industry and the benefits it brings to South Africa.”
