Turkish Airlines will officially restart a direct service between Turkey and Libya on Thursday, March 28.
Bilal Ekşi, CEO of Turkish Airlines, announced on the social media platform X that flights were now open for sale.
Flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Flight TK639 will depart from Istanbul Airport at 08h00 and arrive at Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli at 10h00. Return flight TK640 will depart from Tripoli at 12h00 and arrive in Istanbul at 16h20.
Plans were made to launch the direct route in February after an almost 10-year hiatus. Turkish Airlines ceased flights to Libya in 2014 due to safety concerns during the worsening of the country’s civil war.
