UG disruptions under investigation

The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority plans to investigate Uganda Airlines following a series of cancellations and delays, particularly throughout the December period.

At a stakeholder engagement reported by the Uganda Independent, investigations by the UCAA will establish the issues and determine ways to address them according to aviation oversight standards. Although there were no immediate safety concerns, the authority said the frequency and impact of disruptions required additional scrutiny.

According to Aviation Direct, Uganda Airlines attributed the issues to its limited fleet size, particularly when aircraft were grounded for maintenance or technical checks.
