United Airlines officially opened its new lounge at Newark Liberty International Airport last week.

The Terminal A lounge is open from 05h00-21h15 daily and covers 1 672sqm, with seating for 350 people.

Access to the new lounge is for United’s passengers travelling in business or first class, Polaris Business or Polaris First Class, and United Club members.

The entrance to the lounge has two self-scan entry gates which scan passengers’ boarding passes and allow them to bring in guests.

Some of the amenities and highlights in the new lounge include two large living-room areas with recliner seats and individual chairs, a bar area, a buffet and dining area, working areas and a wellness room.

The living room lounges allow passengers to rest between flights, while work areas feature easy access to power outlets, USB-A ports, USB_C ports and free Wi-Fi.

The bar area is equipped with a variety of beers on tap, including Modelo, Blue Moon and Coors Light. Non-alcoholic drinks are available in the lounge, and there is a water-bottle refill station, a Coca-Cola machine, an Eversys coffee machine and Illy coffee jugs.

In the main buffet, there is a snack table and the buffet is stocked for all-day dining. The buffet includes hot appetisers, sandwiches, soups, a salad bar and two entrees.

The lounge has an agent-staffed help desk and a self-service booking kiosks near its entrance.
