Meetings Africa 2020 – held at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg for the fifteenth consecutive year – was the biggest ever, with 321 exhibitors from 20 African countries and 313 MICE buyers from across the globe.
“We even live-streamed the event to 16 potential Chinese buyers who couldn’t make the trip to South Africa,” the Minister of Tourism, Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane, told eTNW.
Chief Convention Bureau Officer, Amanda Kotze-Nhlapo, pointed out that, with the record number of African exhibitors and the number of visitors, it was clear the world was wanting to buy from Africa.
“And Africa is so ready!” she said.
