WILDERNESS Safaris will
open Hoanib Skeleton
Coast Camp in the private
Palmwag Concession
between the Palmwag area
and the Skeleton Coast
National Park in Namibia
later this year.
The camp is set amid
mountains, plains, and
dry riverbeds that are
home to concentrations of
desert-adapted elephant as
well as gemsbok, giraffe,
springbok, lion and Black
rhino. Guests will be able
to explore the area on
foot, by vehicle and by
air in small groups led by
Wilderness Safaris guides.
For the rst time, forays
into the Hoanib oodplains
(previously restricted
inside the Skeleton Coast
National Park) can be
undertaken. This includes
the strange upwelling of
fresh water at a series
of oases in the middle of
the shifting Namib Desert.
On itineraries of three or
more nights, scenic ights
will explore the shores of
the world-famous Skeleton
Coast.
This exclusive camp
will comprise eight tents
(including one family unit)
and is expected to be ready
in August. A dedicated
aireld in the vicinity will
offer access.
