Protests have erupted in Lusaka, Lagos and Abuja, targeting South African-owned businesses and the embassies.
The Foreign & Commonwealth Office has advised travellers to avoid areas of demonstrations in both countries.
The South African embassies in Lagos and Abuja have been forced to close, following protests on Wednesday and Thursday outside the building. While no injuries have been reported, a number of South African-owned businesses, including MTN and Shoprite, have also closed their doors following targeted protests.
SA’s embassy in Lusaka has also been in the spotlight, with Zambian citizens holding non-violent protests outside the building on Wednesday and Thursday.
South Africa’s Department of International Relations and Cooperation says it is monitoring the situation.
