Zanzibar scraps PCRs for vaxxed visitors

31 Mar 2022
Comments | 0

Fully vaccinated visitors to Zanzibar will no longer be subject to PCR testing on arrival from Friday (April 1).

Proof of a valid vaccination certificate with a QR code is essential. All travellers must also now complete the Travellers Health Surveillance Form within 24 hours of arrival.

Unvaccinated visitors must still present a negative PCR test result, from a test taken within the 72 hours prior to departure.

Unvaccinated children aged five years and younger, as well as transiting passengers, are exempt from the PCR requirement.

Since early February, Zanzibar’s new recorded cases of COVID-19 have been low, at fewer than 200 each day.
