The Spade Hotel & Spa – owned by ex-flight attendant, Annette Skaap, who grew up in the township – started to welcome guests in Cape Town’s Khayelitsha township from December 7.

The four-star hotel has 13 units: two executive suites, four luxury junior suites, three family suites and four standard rooms. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioners, complimentary Wi-Fi, tea- and coffee-making facilities, television, and minibar, among other amenities.

Some of the rooms have views of Table Mountain, the Cape Winelands and the Helderberg Mountains.

The hotel has an in-house gym, a spa, restaurant (offering breakfast, lunch and dinner) and bar, and a heated swimming pool. The events and functions room doubles up as a small conference room, and the boardroom can accommodate up to 15 delegates.

The Spade Boutique Hotel is 24km from Cape Town International Airport. For guests travelling for business, it has business facilities and a complimentary shuttle service.
