A new app in Armenia features guided tours in sign language, allowing tourists with hearing impairments to explore Dilijan city.

Created by destination management organisation GoToDili and supported by the Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, ‘Accessible Dilijan’ is an initiative that aims to allow visitors with hearing impairments to explore independently.

The project’s first tours include a city tour focused on key landmarks and a picturesque hike through the national park. The app is available in Armenian, Russian and English Sign Language.

“Every visitor to Armenia, regardless of physical abilities, should have the opportunity to travel in our country, discover hidden paths, and equally experience all the interesting and unforgettable experiences. In this context, the Tourism Committee welcomes the creation of the ‘Accessible Dilijan’ tourist product, which is a new opportunity for individuals to discover the wonders of Armenian tourism,” said Sisian Poghosyan, the head of Armenia’s Tourism Committee.
