ACSA has appointed Siphamandla Mthethwa as CEO from November 1, following a Cabinet decision made on September 23.
Mthethwa will take over from Charles Shilowa, who has served as Acting CEO since July 1. Shilowa provided leadership continuity following the conclusion of Mpumi Mpofu’s fixed-term tenure.
Mthethwa will return to ACSA after a three-year absence, having previously served as the company’s CFO. He first joined ACSA in May 2020, during the height of the pandemic.
As CFO, he played a role in navigating ACSA through this period, including managing its funding and liquidity requirements while the company implemented measures to protect its long-term financial sustainability.
He is a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in corporate finance, treasury management, strategic planning, risk management and executive leadership.
“Mthethwa’s combination of institutional knowledge, financial expertise, stakeholder management skills and executive leadership will serve ACSA well as the company enters its next phase of growth, including the implementation of its major airport infrastructure investment programme,” said Irvin Phenyane, Chairperson of the Board of ACSA.
