Africa's worst culprits for flight cancellations

Aviation analytics firm Cirium has revealed the global aviation’s flight cancellation statistics for last year in its recently released 2024 On-Time Performance Review report.

In Africa, Kenya Airways ranked highest for flight cancellations, with 2 263 flights cancelled out of 46 578 total flights.

Air Seychelles followed closely with 1 624 cancellations out of 16 069 flights. Ethiopian Airlines, despite being Africa's largest carrier with 151 543 flights, ranked in third place with 1 622 cancellations.

Air Algeria came in fourth with 1 570 cancellations out of 78 360 flights, followed by Air Peace in fifth with 1 051 cancellations out of 28 819.

Flydubai, Air Austral, Emirates, Iraqi Airways and Dana Air round off the Top 10.
