Air New Zealand updates GDS booking policy

Agents are advised of an update to Air New Zealand’s GDS booking policy.

This booking policy applies to any travel agency or travel service provider booking and ticketing Air New Zealand flights, products and services. To prevent receiving ADMs, agents are to take note of the following booking policies including:

  • Itinerary churning – extending ticket time limits through churning (cancelling and rebooking of the same itinerary, using the same NZ PNR) is not permitted. Such actions may result in the airline cancelling the entire itinerary and/or an appropriate penalty fee being applied.
  • Ticket time limits – these must be adhered to as per the published fare rule. Air New Zealand uses an automated process to cancel bookings that are not ticketed within the required ticket time limit. The booking agent is responsible for any flights that are not ticketed at the time of flight departure and the airline may issue an ADM to the booking agent.
  • Inventory Controls – Air New Zealand will now actively manage PNRs that have been created through manipulation of the GDS to bypass O&D controls.
