Harare domestic terminal reopens

The domestic terminal at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport in Harare has reopened following rehabilitation work that began in January 2024.

Air Zimbabwe confirmed that check-in for all its domestic flights departing Harare moved to the Domestic Departures Terminal from October 12. Passengers had been using the international terminal during the closure.

According to The Herald, the rehabilitation forms part of the airport’s broader R2,5 billion upgrade and expansion, designed to increase annual passenger handling capacity from 2,5 million to approximately six million.

Additions include new arrivals and departures sections, four aerobridges (one capable of accommodating an Airbus A380) and four baggage carousels.
