Delta and Virgin increase partnership
JOINT venture partners Delta and Virgin Atlantic have announced
new services between Heathrow and Los Angeles and Heathrow
and Atlanta, with expanded co-location at the UK hub. Both
airlines now operate their Atlanta and Los Angeles services
from London’s Heathrow Terminal 3, increasing the joint venture
flights by more than 90%. The co-location provides convenient
connections for passengers of both airlines. Benefits include
access to Virgin Atlantic’s Clubhouse and fully flat-bed seats
with direct aisle access on flights between the UK and US for
all business-class passengers. Additionally, Delta’s BusinessElite
passengers – who already receive expedited security, priority
boarding and priority baggage service – can also take advantage
of pre-arranged private car access to the Upper Class Wing at
Terminal 3, enabling them to reach the Clubhouse within 10
minutes of check-in at the desk.
Etihad strengthens Indian operations
MUMBAI and New Delhi will become Etihad Airways’ first
destinations in India to be served with triple-daily flights. Both
cities will be upgraded from their current double-daily frequencies,
with the third daily flight to Mumbai starting on February 15 and
to New Delhi on May 1. Along with Indian airline, Jet Airways’,
both airlines will connect Abu Dhabi to 14 Indian cities with over
200 return flights each week. EY will also launch a daily service to
Kolkata in West Bengal on February 15 to support its long-term
development plan in India, and Jet Airways will soon launch daily
services between Abu Dhabi and Goa, Lucknow and Pune.
More options to New Zealand
AIR New Zealand and Singapore Airlines have confirmed the
launch date for their alliance, with codeshare flights going on sale
on both airlines’ services between New Zealand and Singapore
from September 25 next year. The alliance will see the Star
Alliance carriers operating one return service each per day on the
Auckland - Singapore route and Singapore Airlines operating a
daily return service between Christchurch and Singapore.
Hahn Air launches new website
HAHN Air’s new website, which was launched on November
5, offers new features, a new look and more comprehensive
information to its customer base. The new site has enhanced
functionality and quick site entries to main services. Hahn Air’s
Quick Check, which verifies airline availability, now has its own
landing page and there are redesigned search and filtering
capabilities for air and rail partners. Coloured links guide visitors
through the website and new sections, such as ‘Info & Help’,
provide quick information and support for travel agents. The
website features eight languages.
