Etihad launches daily Hong Kong service
ETIHAD Airways has launched daily services to Hong Kong
operated by a two-class Airbus A330. Flight EY834 departs Abu
Dhabi at 21h45 to arrive in Hong Kong at 09h45. Return flight
EY833 departs Hong Kong at 18h55 to arrive in Abu Dhabi at
23h25. Codeshare partners on the route include airberlin, Air
Seychelles, Alitalia, NIKI and Hong Kong Airlines.

Flyafrica adjusts Zim schedule
ZIMBABWE flyafrica has announced a number of seasonal
changes to its schedule between Johannesburg and Victoria Falls.
The Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday flights have been
cancelled from July 1 to March 31. Flights now operate three
times a week, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. In addition,
there is a time change on flight Z7 111 from June 10 to July 31.
The departure time was 16h00 and has changed to 12h50. The
airline has also cancelled its Vic Falls-Harare flights (Z7 149 and
Z7 150) from June 10 to July 31 due to seasonal demand. 

African airline awarded Iata membership
RWANDAIR has been awarded Iata membership after receiving
IOSA certification in December last year. It will now pursue the
Iata Safety Audit for Ground Operations certificate, which it
expects to be completed by June 2016. RwandAir is now offering
a free night’s accommodation in Kigali for passengers from Lagos,
Accra, Libreville and Brazzaville who connect through Kigali to
other destinations on the carrier’s network. 

Lufthansa to launch Nairobi flights
LUFTHANSA will launch flights between Frankfurt and Nairobi on
October 27. The route will be operated by an Airbus A340-300
and will initially operate four times a week, with an additional
flight to be added on December 11. Flight LH 590 will leave
Frankfurt at 11h10 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and
Sundays (and on Fridays from December 11 to the end of January
2016), to arrive in Nairobi at 21h15. Return flight LH 591 will
depart Nairobi at 23h20 to arrive in Frankfurt at 05h55 the
following day. The flight time is eight hours 20 minutes.
In a statement, Lufthansa said it expected high demand on the
new route.

Skywise ups flights
SKYWISE has increased flights between Johannesburg and Cape
Town to eight a day, up from the previous four a day, from June
11. The airline has also introduced a second aircraft to its fleet
to accommodate the increase in capacity. “We are very excited
about the increase in fleet size and daily flights. Skywise is
witnessing fast growth and hopes to maintain the trend into the
future,” said Tabassum Qadir and J. Malik, co-chairmen. Skywise
flights operate throughout the day, with the first departure from
Johannesburg at 06h00.
