Airlink launches fourth Namibian route

Airlink says it will launch a new direct thrice-weekly service between Cape Town and Walvis Bay on March 2.

The new route is Airlink’s fourth link between South Africa and Namibia. It already conducts Cape Town-Windhoek; Johannesburg-Windhoek and Johannesburg-Walvis Bay flights.

“This new service is ideal for business and leisure travellers, with the port city of Walvis Bay being an important economic hub and gateway to some of Namibia’s prized tourism destinations, including the Namib Desert, Swakopmund and the Skeleton Coast. Walvis Bay, Langstrand and Swakopmund are also home to a significant community of people who commute between Namibia and South Africa,” said Airlink ceo and md, Rodger Foster.

The route will also enable seamless multi-city travel itineraries for international and local tourists visiting popular destinations in both countries.

The flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. 4Z382 will depart Cape Town at 14h00, arriving at Walvis Bay at 16h15. 4Z 383 will depart Walvis Bay at 16h50, arriving at Cape Town at 19h00.

Airlink’s economy-class fares include a 20kg checked-in luggage allowance plus a 15kg sporting equipment allowance. On board, customers receive a complimentary light meal, refreshments, and a choice of aisle or window seat (flights do not have middle seats).
