Alitalia issues repro policy for air transport strike

Alitalia has issued a repro policy for the 24-hour air transport sector strike on September 6, which will affect Italian airports.

Passengers booked on cancelled/re-scheduled flights may choose one of the following options:

Rebooking:

Without any penalty on:

  • AZ operating and/or AZ marketing DL, AF, KL, in the same booking class or in the first available one in the same cabin
  • AZ marketing of all other carriers, in the same booking class.

Rebooking/reissue must be completed no later than November 30 with the original duration of stay to be preserved.

Rerouting:

Without any penalty, as follows:

  • AZ operating and/or AZ marketing DL, AF, KL, in the same booking class or in the first available one in the same cabin
  • AZ marketing of all other carriers, in the same booking class.

Travel must be done via intermediate point on the same origin and destination and must be completed by no later than November 30, with the original duration of stay to be preserved.

Refund:
Full refund, without any penalty, of completely/partially unused ticket in the original form of payment. Passengers with ‘open’ ticket, without reservation, will have the refund of unused ticket.

Schedule Changes of more than 5 hours:
In the case where the rescheduled departure time is such that the passenger no longer wishes to take the flight, he may request to be rebooked/rerouted (via intermediate point on same O&D) without any penalty. In case Alitalia cannot offer any alternative acceptable flight, the passenger may renounce the flight and request the airline to refund the amount paid, without any penalty, of completely/partially unused ticket in the original form of payment.

Ticket re-issue and/or revalidation:
E-ticket must be reissued/revalidated free of charge by Alitalia, inserting in the ‘Endorsement and Restriction’ box the note “SKCHG: AIR TRANSPORT STRIKES 06 SEPTEMBER 19”.
