Atlanta airport bans smoking

The Atlanta City Council has approved legislation prohibiting smoking and vaping in Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, city facilities, and other specified public places, to limit exposure to second-hand smoke.

Smoking and vaping are prohibited in bars and restaurants, excluding outdoor seating or serving areas.

According to CNBC, airport officials have said current smoking lounges will be repurposed. Passengers will be directed to smoking areas outside both terminals.
