Azamara unveils 2028 world voyage

Azamara Cruises has unveiled a 175-night World Cruise for 2028, which will visit 40 countries and 91 ports.

The world cruise is split into 14 bookable segments, including two that arrive and depart from Cape Town.

On January 5, 2028, the Azamara Onward will set off from Miami with first stops in the southern Caribbean and Latin America, calling on Aruba and Colombia before a Panama Canal transit and visits to Ecuador and Peru.

After crossing the Pacific, guests enjoy an overnight in Tahiti and Bora Bora before venturing on to New Zealand and Australia.

The cruise continues through Asia with calls in Indonesia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore, then sails across the Indian Ocean to Sri Lanka, the Maldives and Mauritius.

From there, Segment 9, will offer a 14-night Mauritius, Réunion, Madagascar and South Africa cruise, which will disembark in Cape Town. Segment 10 is a 21-night leg, which will depart from Cape Town to sail to Namibia, St Helena and Cape Verde.

The cruise then continues on to the Canary Islands, Morocco, Barcelona, the French Riviera and Italy, including Rome, the Amalfi Coast and Sicily, before cruising through Croatia, the Greek Isles, and Turkey.

The journey concludes on June 29, 2028, in Athens.

Throughout the 2028 World Cruise, Azamara will also offer a collection of overland experiences.

Programmes include multi-day journeys to destinations such as Beijing, the Great Wall and Xi’an with the Terracotta Warriors; the temples of Siem Reap, Angkor Wat, Ta Phrom and Angkor Thom; the Taj Mahal, Agra and Delhi; Bhutan’s mountain monasteries; Sri Lanka’s ancient cities and wildlife reserves; and safari lodges in South Africa.
