Barcelona to close two cruise terminals

Barcelona’s city council and the Port of Barcelona plan to close two cruise terminals as part of a new protocol to make cruising more sustainable.

The number of cruise terminals will be reduced from seven to five. Terminals A, B, and C will be demolished, and a new terminal with a capacity for 7 000 guests will open at the location of terminal C by 2030.

The current terminals D, E, G and H will remain private and the new terminal C will be public.

Cruise operations will also be more sustainable with the modernisation of port infrastructure, including a green onshore power supply for ships to connect to while docked.
