"Big 10" entices tourists

INTERNATIONAL tourists have, up to now, been limited to two major tour package choices - bush or beach. Mozambique's Barra Lodge in Inhambane has launched a comprehensive package, in conjunction with South Africa's Kruger National Park (KNP), that will incorporate both.
Dubbed the "Big 10 tour", the package includes a four-day stay at the Pungwe Safari Camp in the KNP where the Big Five game can be viewed and a three- or four-day stay at Barra Lodge where the "Ocean Five", whale shark, manta ray, dolphin, marlin and sailfish are regularly spotted.
The tour will be kick-started in August, once the facilities and road infrastructure between the two areas are fully operational after the recent floods.
Reservations officer, Maureen Harrington, says Barra is also currently negotiating a new direct charter flight to Inhambane from Durban.
